Just like in previous renditions of the Nintendo handheld gaming device, the Nintendo 3DS system has the same clamshell setup with both a lower and upper screen. The lower screen is as you’ve come to expect with touchscreen technology etc, etc. It is the upper screen where the Nintendo 3DS will blow your mind. Each of your eyeballs is given access to 400 pixels of screen resolution independently, this allows for amazing 3D depth that seems to stretch miles into the back of the screen.

Of course, the Nintendo 3DS includes motion sensor and gyro for amazing response and interaction and the you can rest assured that your Nintendo 3DS is backwards compatible so you can play all your current favorite games only in 2D though :( . Let’s take a quick look at some of the Nintendo 3DS specifications that we care about. 2.9″ high, 5.3″ long and 0.8″ deep. Complete weight of about half a pound. Upper 3D display is 3.53″ with 800 x 240 pixels offering over 16 million colors (count them ;) ). Charge time is around 3.5 hours and play time is around 3+ hours in 3D and about 5 or more hours in regular 2D. You also get 2 outward facing cameras and 1 inner camera.
